Don’t let the GDPR Boat sail without you! CSO Alliance teams up with Templar Executives

A ‘quick win’ in the journey to compliance with Cyber aspects of the ISM Code before January 2021.

CSO Alliance has teamed up with Templar Executives, to provide its members with access to the only GCHQ certified General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Awareness e-learning course currently available. This will enable efficient and cost effective training for all staff.

Last year, Danish Shipping’s CEO panel reported that 69% of its members had been subject to Cyber crime over the past year. In an International  Cyber Security Benchmark Survey[1] conducted recently, 43% of participants  felt their organisation was either not ready, or did know if their organisation would be ready, for the GDPR. In addition, Digital, Culture, Media & Sport[2] found that only 38% of businesses say they have heard of GDPR, which will be enforced from 25th May 2018. This offer is therefore extremely timely.

GDPR will have a significant impact in the way maritime companies collect, manage, process and store personally identifiable and personal sensitive data for EU citizens – anywhere in the world. This includes details of their own employees, business contacts, passengers, vessel crew and other contractors. The consequences of a breach can include fines of up to €20 million or 4% of global turnover, as well as irrecoverable damage to reputation and major business disruption.

One of the requirements to demonstrate compliance is to show you are training employees and raising a strong general awareness of GDPR within your company. Our GCHQ certified e-learning course offers organisations an accessible and comprehensive method of raising GDPR awareness across all levels of employees in the business, quickly and cost effectively.
