Templar Executives supported Cyber Champions at the Livery Showcase Event on 18th March hosted by the Livery Schools Link, sponsored by the Worshipful Company of IT (WCIT). The Livery Schools Link is a voluntary organisation that aims to promote support for schools in the Greater London area by helping to ‘prepare young people for the world of work’. The event gave Cyber Champions the opportunity to engage with students to raise awareness of best practices in digital literacy and how to stay safe online. A number of pupils aged 13-15, from over 20 local schools, attended the event to gain insight into the different career paths available to them. They visited the Cyber Champions stand and had an opportunity to complete a quick quiz to test their awareness, as well as receive advice on how to be smart online and the general do’s and don’ts of Social Media. Cyber Champions shared a stand with Phil Jones from the WCIT and E-Skills.
Cyber Champions is a not-for-profit organisation delivering best practices and online safety awareness interactive workshops to schoolchildren and parents through a network of young professional volunteers. Templar Executives has been actively supporting Cyber Champions since its launch in 2011.
As we make a move to operate more and more of our lives online, it is crucial that we provide young people with the sufficient skills and knowledge to exploit the online world safely.
